Guest/Host

Keli Goff is a multi-platform storyteller best known for chronicling the intersections of race, politics and gender in America. As a journalist and essayist her work has appeared in the publications Time, The Guardian, The Nation, Vogue and Essence, among others.

Her career in media began with the publication of her first book, Party Crashing (2008), an analysis of how younger voters of color reshaped the American political landscape. In addition to a chapter devoted to the rise of “Generation Obama,” the book was notable for interviews with leaders as diverse as the late General Colin Powell and Rev. Al Sharpton, on evolving political attitudes among African Americans. She then went on to cover the 2008 and 2012 elections as a columnist and correspondent for The Washington Post blog, “She the People,” The Root and later, The Daily Beast, where she continues to write about politics and pop culture.

In addition to hundreds of appearances on cable news, she has been a longtime contributor to various public radio stations. In 2016 she hosted “Political Party with Keli Goff” for NPR affiliate WNYC and she has been a regular contributor and fill-in host for KCRW’s “Left, Right & Center” since 2014.

Keli has also developed a prolific career off air as both a producer and screenwriter. In 2013 she began interviewing pro-life and pro-choice activists for a project that would eventually become the Netflix documentary Reversing Roe. She was nominated for two News and Documentary Emmy Awards for her work on the film in 2019. She also won a 2016 NAACP Image Award for Dramatic Writing for her work on the series Being Mary Jane and most recently served as a writer and producer on the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That.

Born and raised in Texas, she is a graduate of N.Y.U. and holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University.
